AFRO JIVE BAND

Born in South Africa our Afro Jive Band is an immensely rich heritage of African music. This up-tempo and sometimes Afro-jazzy music is known back in Southern Africa as Umbaqanga music, otherwise also known as Township Jive music.

Vibrant and electrifying, the band is comprised of two guitars, keyboards, drums, percussion, backing vocals and features a powerful 3-piece horn section. All members wear traditional South African costume on stage.

Exuding raw passion and colour, prepare to be taken on sensational sonic journey canvassing afrobeats, funk, reggae, jazz, raga, hiphop and percussion.

This truly is a highly visual and energetic show that will leave you wanting more. A combination of traditional roots with a blast of modern grooves - creating a fusion of sounds that cover a wide range of music genres. Truly unique.

We here at Drum Circle Events are continually striving to make your event planning as easy as possible and are pleased to announce we now provide corporate cover bands as part of our ever growing performance roster.

FUNK & SOUL BAND

Defined as a type of popular music combining elements of jazz, blues, and soul and characterized by syncopated rhythm and a heavy, repetitive bass line. These guys are sure to create a lively party vibe for your next function.

LATIN BAND

Available in different ensembles such as acoustic solo, trio, or larger orchestras depending on the occasion and budget, our Latin musicians are truly the cream of the crop.

Not limited to Latin, our performers play Caribbean and South American traditional songs to reggae, funk and Latin jazz with a modern tip. Referencing the likes of Buena Vista Social Club, Carlos Vives, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Manu Chau and many more, our performers are able to sing in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
